We went for our first visit to see Santa this weekend and it went pretty well. Kylee and Natalee weren't scared of him and didn't mind sitting on his lap for some pictures. Kylee kept talking about Santa all night and Natalee kept saying "Ho Ho Ho".

30....HERE I AM!!!!!!!

Saturday was the big day. 30. Wow. For some reason this birthday was not scary, dreadful, bad or terrifying for me. And for some reason, I was actually looking forward to it. Maybe it’s because I’ve had a year to grasp that I would be turning 30 this year, but everyone has that. I think for me it wasn’t a bad birthday because I really have thought about my life in these last few months and have realized there really isn’t anything that I haven’t done or accomplished by this age that I thought I would have. I have the most wonderful husband who is not only the sweetest guy to me but is also an amazing father to our girls. I have been very blessed with two healthy little girls that light up my world and melt my heart every day. I have an incredible family and a lot of close good friends. I have a good job and just feel like I’m in a good place in my life. Really – what else could I ask for? So, I may be 30 now and in my lower 20’s that seemed like such a frightening age to be...

Thanksgiving!

What a wonderful Thanksgiving we had! We went to IG for Thanksgiving to celebrate with my parents and had such a nice time. We arrived Wednesday evening and relaxed and went over the menu for Turkey Day with my Mom. My Dad always, ALWAYS works Thanksgiving Day so we have to do our Thanksgiving at Noon before he leaves for work, this year was a little tricky because my Mom also had to work Thanksgiving Day and she worked until Noon. So, my Dad and I prepared our Thanksgiving dinner and had it ready right at Noon. It turned out wonderfully and we got to enjoy it on my parent’s new dining room table and with their new dishes. My Dad had to leave at 1:00 to go to work, so we had a nice hour of togetherness. My Mom and I decided to start a tradition of doing our Christmas baking together. After all, it is so much more fun to bake with someone and so we thought it would be a fun thing to start doing every year, with this being our first. And because I have two little girls, I would like them...

Thankful for Family...

We went to Iowa this last weekend to see Eric’s family for an early Thanksgiving. We arrived late Friday night and unpacked. We had a difficult night getting Natalee to sleep and spent most of it up with her just trying to get her to stop crying. Poor little thing has 4 teeth coming thru and then add to that excitement of seeing Grandparents and getting her off of her schedule = NO SLEEP! Saturday morning, we got up and went to Pella to see Eric’s Grandma Walter. She has dementia and seems to get worse every time we see her. Although I don’t think she knew who we were and it has been difficult for us to see her this way, she seemed happy while we were there and is in a happy place in her mind. She also looked very healthy physically so it was a nice visit with her. While we were there, we also got to see Eric’s Aunt Connie who has been like a 2nd Mother to Eric his entire life and totally spoils us and our girls. It was great to see her again, it’s been awhile! Hope to see yo...
