Family Fun

Image
We went to Eric’s hometown, Albia this last weekend to celebrate his Mom and Dave’s 25th Wedding Anniversary. We stayed with his Granny & Kenny for the weekend and the girls had a wonderful time breaking in their new carpet. They had a great time with Grandmas and Grandpas, Aunts and Uncles and Cousins. We had all sorts of weather over the weekend but the day of the party, it was beautiful out. Friday night however was another story. We hadn’t been to the Legion more than 15 minutes before the tornado sirens started going off so we headed back to his Granny’s house for awhile to take cover. Kylee and Natalee had no idea what was going on – they were coloring and the center of attention while we hung out in the basement. Luckily it didn’t last too long and we were able to go back to the Legion to finish decorating. Saturday was the day of the party and the girls had a blast running around the place, playing with balloons and catching bubbles that older cousins were blowing. ...

Getting Sooooo Big!

We took the girls to get their pictures taken on Saturday. Of course it didn't go as smoothly as I had hoped - it never does, especially with both of them going in on the same day but I think we still got some good pictures. Natalee who is normally a VERY happy and smiley little girl cried the entire time the pictures were being taken and then of course, immediately stopped when we were finished and flashed all sorts of smiles and giggles. Kylee did fairly well but didn't want to sit still and HAD to have her Lambie in ALL of the pictures. Which I really didn't care, as long as she was smiling for some of the pictures we could have whatever lovey or prop in the picture. Anyway... I think we got a few good ones.

Our first born is 2! Wow time flies by! I can’t believe she is already 2. It’s been an amazing year. She started off the year becoming a Big Sister! She has been a GREAT Big Sister and LOVES Natalee to pieces! She is always trying to help her with everything and loves to give her hugs. They are getting close to the same size and are starting to look more and more like twins – I’m sure next year it will seem as if they are. Only 2 ½ pounds separate the two but Kylee has definitely become such a BIG GIRL this year. She is very into being a “big girl” right now and would like to “I do it” for everything. This year has been a whirlwind of milestones. All of them have been so fun and also kind of sad for Mommy because that means she is growing up. She started walking before her first birthday and not too long after she turned 1, was running. She has become such a little person and not such a baby anymore. She loves to be outside; in fact it’s really hard to get her back inside...
