Christmas!!!

Image
Christmas was hard this year with the passing of my Granny but we still managed to have a nice Christmas spent with lots of family bonding. We headed to IG for Christmas and tried to beat the terrible weather. Of course we came the night it started to get bad and ended up hitting black ice and going into a ditch just a few miles before reaching our destination. Luckily, we were all okay and the babies didn't even wake up. We put the Durango in 4 Wheel Drive and were able to continue safely to IG. Then the snow hit! WOW - I think IG got about 23 inches of snow for the duration of our stay of about a week. It was crazy to see so much snow - it definitely was a very white Christmas. We were able to go to Christmas Mass on Christmas Eve (although Eric and I divided up Mass by taking Kylee to the basement, she was not really interested in being quiet). We then went back to my parent's house, had lots of yummy app's and then opened presents. The girls were spoiled by the...

Rest In Peace Granny

Image
It's been a rough couple of weeks. My Granny became ill after Thanksgiving and extremely ill the week before and week of Christmas. After the hospital moved my Granny a Hospice room on Thursday before Christmas, Brooks, Pat, Natalee and I headed to Sac City so we could spend some time with my Granny. We got there Friday and stayed until Saturday evening. We were able to talk to her in short spurts with hours of rest in between. She was going downhill physically but was very sharp mentally and so it was wonderful to have that time with her. It was hard leaving Saturday knowing we might not be there when she was ready to say her final good-bye's. We came back on Wednesday, December 23rd to see her again. She was non-responsive this time and passed after us being there about an hour. She was surrounded by loved ones when she passed and was no longer in any pain. She passed away in time to spend Christmas with my Grandpa who passed away about 24 years ago and my Uncle Tony...

It's Fun to Have a Sister!

Image
I remember taking baths with siblings when I was younger and knew that someday my girls would get to share in the joy of playing in the tub with one another too. Although Natalee is still not quite stable enough sitting on her own in the tub, we put her in her bumbo seat so the two could play in the tub together and they LOVED it!

Happy 29th Birthday..... ME!

Image
I had a wonderful birthday for my last birthday in my 20's. All of my friends and loved ones remembered me and helped me have a very happy birthday. Eric made me a cake and had Kylee help decorate it....so sweet and it was delicious!

Happy Turkey Day

Image
We had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday this year. We went to IG to spend the holiday with my family and it was great to have everyone at home together this year. While we were home, my brother Adam's Christmas present to my parents was for us to all go and get family pictures taken at Knop Photography since we weren't able to make it to his wedding this last May (instead we were having Natalee the same week) so we really needed some updated pictures. They turned out wonderful and look forward to getting lots ordered! Here are a few pix from our Thanksgiving weekend.

Little Miss 6 Months Old

Image
My baby is already six months old!!!! I can't believe how fast these six months have gone by. Natalee is such a happy baby and is ALWAYS smiling, we are so blessed to have such a happy little girl!

Baby Shower

Image
Wednesday night I threw a baby shower for a co-worker and it turned out beautifully! I have spent a lot of time planning the shower and trying to plan it around the construction in our office - it's been a bit of an obstacle but the night of the shower went perfect! Here are a few pix!!! The beautiful cake my friend Steph made! Table (we didn't have a fridge so notice the beautiful coolers one of the partners brought to hold the beer and wine!) A few of us girls before the shower started...

Lipstick

Image
The other night the girls were playing together on the floor and all on her own, Kylee started putting pretend lipstick on Natalee. It was so cute - like they both knew what it was and where it should go.

Family Fun Weekend

Image
We had a wonderful family weekend last weekend. We headed to Iowa for Eric's cousin, Teresa's wedding. We had a lot of fun with Aunt Connie and Uncle Mark! Visited Eric's Grandma for a bit and then went to the wedding and reception. It was beautiful! Teresa looked so pretty in her gown! Kylee and Natalee had a lot of fun hanging out with family. It was a great weekend! Eric, Kylee, Natalee with Grandma Walter Our family before the wedding Josh & Teresa Cousins

Is it really November?

Image
It was absolutely BEAUTIFUL here in Kansas this weekend - really didn't feel like November at all. We had 70 degree days all weekend long! We took advantage and went to the park yesterday - the girls had a lot of fun. Of course I didn't realize really how nice it was until we had been there for a little bit - I had the girls all bundled up in coats and long sleeves so after a while I noticed that both of them were sweating big time so I peeled the coats off of them and just let them enjoy the nice warm November day!

Bath Time

Image
I just love bath time for my girls! Our days are so busy with getting the girls ready for daycare then working all day and then the rush of getting home, making dinner and trying to get some play time in before it's bedtime. So bath time forces us to sit down and just enjoy our babies. Kylee always takes her bath first and she loves it! She would play for hours in the tub if we'd let her! After her bath is over, we get her ready for bed and have story time and snuggle time before she goes Night-Night. Then it's Natalee's turn in the tub and she is getting to the age where she is just starting to splash around and giggle so it's so much fun to watch her have such a good time. After she's done getting all clean again - then it's snuggle time with her! It's just so nice to be able to take our minds off of all the other things that make our daily routine so crazy and just enjoy our girls before they go to bed and we have to do it all over again the n...

Happy Halloween!

Image
We had a nice Halloween this year. We didn't go trick-or-treating with the girls this year - still felt like they were too young but we did have a nice day as a family. Hope everyone else had a wonderful and safe Halloween!

Finally!

Well after a few years of reading other friends blogs I decided I should try joining the blog world - I've finally taken the leap! I'm not sure how good I will be at posting to this very often, but I'm going to try!
