First Haircut!

Image
We took Kylee to get her very first haircut today. Her hair was starting to look pretty shaggy. I was hoping to grow her bangs out and just clip them back with bows until they grew long enough but Kylee decided she didn't really like having "pretties" in her hair everyday, which then left her bangs to hang long enough into her eyes ---- so it was time for a first haircut. We went to a special place just for kids and paid the extra $$$ to have them make a big deal out of it being her first haircut. They took before and after pictures, saved some of her hair clippings and gave us a 1st Haircut Certificate. She got to sit in a princess car and watch Micky Mouse Clubhouse while they cut her hair. She did really well and although you can't see it very well in this picture, the stylist did a great job and the cut is super cute! She put layers in the back to help with the shag that was going on but also to help show off the curls and trimmed up her bangs so no more ha...

The Best Toy...

Image
As most parents know sometimes the cheapest things make the best toys! After dinner tonight, I was loading the dishwasher and Eric was clearing the table and we looked over to see our girls playing with their new most favorite toy - a box we were getting ready to throw out. Guess we'll keep it a little longer since they had such a blast with it! Just goes to show that you don't need to spend much to entertain little ones - if only that would stick with us as adults!

Nine Months Old!

Image
My baby Natalee is 9 months old already! She is and always has been such a very happy baby! I am very lucky to be her Mommy! Here is a cute one of Kylee and Eric from tonight before he went out for the night. She loves her Daddy!

PURE HAPPINESS!

Our morning started out like just about every other morning at our house, I woke up to hear Kylee playing in her crib and then yelling as loud as she can, "Mommy"....."Daddy"...."Chloe"..."MOMMY"...."CHLOE"...."CHLOE"..."CHLOE"(she's adores our dog, Chloe). I go into her room and she is jumping up and down with happiness to see me - well actually, I think to see Chloe because she came into the room at the same time, but regardless of who her happy jumps were for, she was in such a great mood. And that made me happy! Natalee was still sound asleep so I brought Kylee into our room so I could get ready for work. She sits on our bed and watches her favorite show, "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse" and is content for a while. Then she sees me doing my make-up and being the girly-girl she is, she wants Mommy to put make-up on her....so I bring her in with me and put some pretend blush and eyeshadow on her cute lit...

Recovery and Valentine's

Image
We are on the road to recovery. Natalee is still taking her antibiotics for her ear infection but doesn't act like it's bothering her anymore and back to her smiling all-of-the-time self. She is also now weaned and is 100% on formula and seems to be doing okay with it. Kylee had two shots on Thursday and two more on Friday for her pneumonia. She luckily didn't have a fever all day on Friday, so we were able to bypass more shots on Saturday and fill an oral prescription of antibiotics to give her for the next ten days. She is starting to be more like her self and smiling more instead of crying and fussing all the time - so we are a lot happier now too. We had a nice Valentine's Day as a family. Because we had sick babies we decided to stay home with them and have a nice family day and we did. We didn't really do a whole lot but we all got some much needed rest and lots of hugs! I made a special dinner, Crab and Ricotta Manicotti (recipe from Giada from Food ...

Unhealthy week

We have not had such a great week. Our week started with Natalee having a fever and going to the doctor to find out she has a really bad ear infection in her right ear. They put her on antibiotics and she is starting to feel better but hasn't been sleeping the best. Then Kylee has been waking up in the middle of the night all week and has had a terrible cough with a little wheezing. We started to give her breathing treatments on Tuesday for it and thought maybe she was feeling better because she slept really good last night. Then this morning we took her to daycare and they called not too long after we had dropped her off to say that she had a fever. Eric went to go pick her up and took her to the doctor. He just called and said they are still at the doctor's office but that Kylee has pneumonia! She has a fever of 103. They gave her a couple of shots in her legs for the pneumonia and some tylenol for the fever. She will be at the doctor's office for awhile yet while they ma...

Little Mommy

Image
Apparantly Kylee has been paying very close attention to Mommy. This morning I was getting my pump out and Kylee ran over, grabbed the shields and did this...she'll make a good Mommy someday.

We've been busy....

Image
Sorry - it's been so long since I've posted. These last few months have been super busy - I can't believe it's February already! And eventhough we've been really busy - I don't have many pictures to post. I've spent many weekends and evenings working late and Eric has been recovering from getting his wisdom teeth removed. We are now finally getting back into our normal routine so I hope to get better at posting more often. Here are some random pix during January... Natalee turned 8 months old! Kylee has been enjoying her chair we got her for Christmas. She is either sitting in it or she puts one of her stuffed animals in there and tells them to "SIT" or "SIT DOWN" - we are working on her adding "please". Although she may seem okay in this picture, Kylee is never thrilled when she has to share her chair with Natalee. Even when Natalee gets close to the chair and Kylee isn't in it, she'll run over, get in the chair an...
