Ahhhh Summer!

We have really been enjoying our summer. We have been at the pool every weekend and have been trying to go on week nights as well. It has been incredibly hot – the hottest I think I ever remember it being for constant weeks so anything to cool off has sounded fantastic!

We went to Brooks and Stacey’s the other weekend for some fun with good friends and good food. They had a baby pool set up on their deck for all of the kids to cool off in – they had a blast!!!



This weekend we went to the Wyandotte County Fair. We had a blast! This was the first fair and carnival the girls had ever been to and they LOVED it! They got to see and pet lots of animals, dance and sing with Rockin’ Bob, go on their very first ever carnival rides and enjoy one of my favorite things --- funnel cake! It was a wonderful evening and I think it was even more enjoyable because it had cooled down to the low 90’s the night we went so it was tolerable to be outside for awhile.









We also babysat for a friend’s kids on Saturday and we had so much fun!!! My girls thought it was wonderful to have friends spend the night and I think Brady and Elly had a pretty good time too!

We watched a movie together and then the kids camped out in the toy room for some movies before bed…

Baby, Baby, Baby

The girls are so excited about becoming big sisters and are always asking questions about the baby. I read that this week the baby can hear us talk so the girls have been singing to the baby and talking to the baby. We find out if the baby is a girl or boy next month and are so excited! I had a doctor's appointment on Friday and the doctor said the baby is very active and moving all over the place. I loved hearing this because to me, the more the baby moves, the more healthy I feel it is. I have felt a few little flutters so far and can't wait for the baby to get a little bigger so I can feel it moving more often - to me, that is one of the most amazing feelings! So with baby on the mind, today, the girls came downstairs to show me that they both were expecting babies - Natalee with twins and Kylee with one and then a few minutes later - their babies were born!

It's Fun to Have a Sister!

I remember taking baths with siblings when I was younger and knew that someday my girls would get to share in the joy of playing in the tub with one another too. Although Natalee is still not quite stable enough sitting on her own in the tub, we put her in her bumbo seat so the two could play in the tub together and they LOVED it!

Apparantly Kylee has been paying very close attention to Mommy. This morning I was getting my pump out and Kylee ran over, grabbed the shields and did this...she'll make a good Mommy someday.
