My brother Brooks and I went to see Pat Green in Lawrence, KS on Friday night at the Granada. It was a fun and interesting evening. We had a good time but I think Brooks and I both were feeling our age certain parts of the night. Show was good but it was amateur night at the Granada...of course a fight even broke out and some girl got a crazy bloody nose... Pat Green stopped playing and then started up again singing Barracuda. I didn't bring my camera so am stealing the picture Brooks posted on facebook with his.

Big Girl!

Kylee has still been sleeping in her crib. She has never tried climbing out and we weren’t in a rush to use her crib because our baby #2 came while baby #1 was definitely still using the crib so we never felt the need to move her out of it. We decided though at 2 ½ she is old enough to be in a big girl bed and thought we would wait until after the holidays. Last weekend was the last of our holiday travels and company so this weekend, actually Sunday night we converted Kylee’s crib into a toddler bed. She was super excited!!!! She loves it! We could hear her in there playing for a while, talking to all of her babies in her bed but I don’t think she ever left the bed, just had fun playing in it. She finally drifted off to sleep and slept the entire night with no problems. Hopefully it will continue to go this smooth. This transition was a bittersweet moment for Eric and me. We were both so excited to move her into the big girl bed but a little sad that she is already old enough to be in ...

We had a fabulous New Years Eve. Our sitter wanted to watch the girls for us so we went over to a friends house and had a lot of fun. Eric was our DD this year since I have been for the last 3 years in a row. It was a fun night and I have 120 pictures to prove it!!!! I narrowed it down to just a few for the blog though. Hope everyone else had a fun and safe New Year's! Me with my (not so little anymore) nephew...

We went for our first visit to see Santa this weekend and it went pretty well. Kylee and Natalee weren't scared of him and didn't mind sitting on his lap for some pictures. Kylee kept talking about Santa all night and Natalee kept saying "Ho Ho Ho".

30....HERE I AM!!!!!!!

Image
Saturday was the big day. 30. Wow. For some reason this birthday was not scary, dreadful, bad or terrifying for me. And for some reason, I was actually looking forward to it. Maybe it’s because I’ve had a year to grasp that I would be turning 30 this year, but everyone has that. I think for me it wasn’t a bad birthday because I really have thought about my life in these last few months and have realized there really isn’t anything that I haven’t done or accomplished by this age that I thought I would have. I have the most wonderful husband who is not only the sweetest guy to me but is also an amazing father to our girls. I have been very blessed with two healthy little girls that light up my world and melt my heart every day. I have an incredible family and a lot of close good friends. I have a good job and just feel like I’m in a good place in my life. Really – what else could I ask for? So, I may be 30 now and in my lower 20’s that seemed like such a frightening age to be...
