THE BOSS!

Image
Those that know me well know that I have always been a fan of Bruce Springsteen and John Mellencamp. I grew up listening to these guys and have fond memories of driving with my family and my Dad putting these cassette tapes in while driving wherever and all of us singing along. For some reason to me, when I hear these guys, it always takes me to a special place and really reminds me of my family. So, I always thought it would be so much fun to get to see both of them in concert. I was lucky enough to get to see Mellencamp a few years ago at the Farm Aid concert in KC and even luckier that I got to share the experience with two of my brothers and our spouses. I thought maybe I had lost my chance to see The Boss though. Brooks and I tried to see him a few years ago – had our tickets and everything. We were minutes from walking over to the Sprint Center in KC when we heard the concert was cancelled at the last minute. We were both so disappointed! So when there was rumor that he ...

A Strawberry Shortcake Halloween

Image
The girls were both Strawberry Shortcake for Halloween this year and absolutely LOVED their costumes! They had so much fun and I liked the fact that their costumes were warm. We trick-or-treated around the neighborhood with some of our neighbor friends and their kids. The girls got a lot of candy and really got into the excitement of it this year. They understood what they were supposed to do and couldn’t wait to knock on the next door to say, “trick-or-treat”. We painted one of the pumpkins this year and then carved Tinkerbell and a witch hat in the other two...

Spooky Surprises from Aunt Amy & Uncle Adam

Image
Uncle Adam and Aunt Amy sent a fun Halloween package for the girls. There were all sorts of things in the box and they loved it all but I think their favorite thing was these funny glasses and the vampire teeth. They thought these were hilarious! They walked around the house trying to scare each other and even hid the glasses in a drawer and when I opened the door, they shouted out “boo!”; such a fun surprise to get them in the spirit of dressing up for Halloween.

Dylan/Football

We don’t get a chance very often to make it to Dylan’s games now that he is in middle school because the games start so early. Natalee and I went to see Dylan play and had so much fun. It was a great game and Dylan had a lot of really great plays. Natalee loved watching him but LOVED the Lansing Lion mascot. She didn’t know but Dylan’s friend, Nate was the one dressed up in the lion suit so we went over to see the lion often and she gave him lots of hugs!

Shelly's Wedding

We went to Shelly and Rich's wedding in Des Moines and had a great time. The girls had fun playing with their cousins and twirling in their pretty dresses. It was a very nice ceremony and reception and we all had a lot of fun.
