Crazy January!

This week has been a little crazy here at the Walter household. We had Eric's family here for Christmas this last weekend and so we are now trying to get caught back up and get back on schedule. Kylee came home sick yesterday from daycare. She had thrown up several times in the short amount of time she was there but never did run a fever. We had her hit the Pedialyte hard and she was feeling much better this morning and back at Nana's today. Natalee started really crawling this week - no more army crawling for her. She is in to everything and everywhere trying to follow her big sister. She also learned how to sit up all by herself this week! Eric is having his wisdom teeth taken out today. He is actually having it done right now. So I'm sure this weekend will be crazy for me with him "out of commission" to help out around the house and with the girls. I am so happy he is finally getting this done - they have been bothering him for awhile now and he fina...

Happy New Year!

Image
We had a wonderful New Year's Eve. We packed up the girl's and went to a friend's house. They had quite the set-up for everyone including all of the kids. They had a couple of playrooms and even had hired a sitter for the evening so everyone with kids could relax and enjoy adult time. Kylee had a lot of fun running around and playing with new toys and friends and Natalee had a blast being passed around from person to person and army-crawling all over the place. Eric and I had a lot of fun hanging out with the adults for the evening. We partied well past midnight and since I'm still nursing, I was able to be the DD and drive us and Brooks, Stacey and Dylan home safely. Hope everyone had a wonderful New Year's!

Christmas!!!

Image
Christmas was hard this year with the passing of my Granny but we still managed to have a nice Christmas spent with lots of family bonding. We headed to IG for Christmas and tried to beat the terrible weather. Of course we came the night it started to get bad and ended up hitting black ice and going into a ditch just a few miles before reaching our destination. Luckily, we were all okay and the babies didn't even wake up. We put the Durango in 4 Wheel Drive and were able to continue safely to IG. Then the snow hit! WOW - I think IG got about 23 inches of snow for the duration of our stay of about a week. It was crazy to see so much snow - it definitely was a very white Christmas. We were able to go to Christmas Mass on Christmas Eve (although Eric and I divided up Mass by taking Kylee to the basement, she was not really interested in being quiet). We then went back to my parent's house, had lots of yummy app's and then opened presents. The girls were spoiled by the...

Rest In Peace Granny

Image
It's been a rough couple of weeks. My Granny became ill after Thanksgiving and extremely ill the week before and week of Christmas. After the hospital moved my Granny a Hospice room on Thursday before Christmas, Brooks, Pat, Natalee and I headed to Sac City so we could spend some time with my Granny. We got there Friday and stayed until Saturday evening. We were able to talk to her in short spurts with hours of rest in between. She was going downhill physically but was very sharp mentally and so it was wonderful to have that time with her. It was hard leaving Saturday knowing we might not be there when she was ready to say her final good-bye's. We came back on Wednesday, December 23rd to see her again. She was non-responsive this time and passed after us being there about an hour. She was surrounded by loved ones when she passed and was no longer in any pain. She passed away in time to spend Christmas with my Grandpa who passed away about 24 years ago and my Uncle Tony...

It's Fun to Have a Sister!

I remember taking baths with siblings when I was younger and knew that someday my girls would get to share in the joy of playing in the tub with one another too. Although Natalee is still not quite stable enough sitting on her own in the tub, we put her in her bumbo seat so the two could play in the tub together and they LOVED it!

Happy 29th Birthday..... ME!

I had a wonderful birthday for my last birthday in my 20's. All of my friends and loved ones remembered me and helped me have a very happy birthday. Eric made me a cake and had Kylee help decorate it....so sweet and it was delicious!
